Ex-NHL Goalie Pang Caddies for Nephew Bryson
By David Shefter - USGA, July 2016
Jake grew up playing hockey and golf out of Dunrobin, ON, Canada. After achieving some early success on the Eastern Ontario golf circuit, he turned his attention to competitive golf at the age of 14. In addition to absorbing the individuality of the game, Jake became obsessed with the challenge and competitiveness it offers. After an encouraging junior career, he enrolled at Utah Valley University, accepting a scholarship offer to pursue NCAA Division 1 college golf.
While at UVU, Jake made steady progress on the golf team, competing in a total of 26 tournaments. This consistent progression instilled the confidence in Jake to turn professional in the late summer of 2022.
In his first four professional events, Jake notched four top 10’s, including two 2nd place finishes, a 3rd place and a 7th place finish across multiple Canadian mini tours. In Jake's sophomore year as a pro, he had 6 top10 finishes, including his first professional victory the exclusive Camelot Pro-Am, alongside an impressive 10th place finish in his first appearance at the Canada Cup.
Currently based out of Ottawa, Jake is preparing for the 2024 tournament season.
